Benefits of Having a DEA-Compliant Safe

If you run a facility that handles controlled substances, you should ensure that these possessions are secured. Without proper security, unauthorized people may access and consume these substances, causing harm. Due to the danger posed by medical drugs and narcotics, the DEA requires those handling these items to store them in an approved safe. A DEA compliant safe ensures various drugs are secure and away from unauthorized people. Here are some reasons why it is prudent to have a DEA-compliant safe.

They Comply with Legal Requirements

Controlled substances can cause serious harm to those who misuse them. They include drugs approved for medicinal use such as codeine and morphine, as well as drugs without any medical effect such as heroin and methamphetamine. These substances can be easily misused, leading to addiction. Due to the danger they pose to society, federal law and DEA guidelines are strict on how people should store controlled substances. These guidelines require those handling the drugs and narcotics to keep them in a DEA-compliant safe to enhance their safety and prevent access to unauthorized personnel. Having such a safe ensures you comply with the government requirements, thus saving your business from legal liabilities.

It Enhances Safety

Controlled substances are expensive and in high demand, making them prone to robbery. Thus, when handling these substances, you must ensure they are safe by storing these medications in a safe area. The DEA-compliant safe has various features that make it impossible to break into, thus ensuring the stored controlled substances are secure. These safes are crafted from steel fabric with reinforced steel posts, making them impossible to destroy. Similarly, the safes are usually mounted to the wall making it difficult to steal them. Storing controlled substances in a DEA-compliant safe ensures that no one can access them without proper authorization.

It Has Controlled Access

Keeping controlled substances like drugs away from recovering patients in a rehabilitation center is vital to ensure they do not relapse. Similarly, pharmacies should store highly addictive medicines away from people to ensure they do not abuse them. A DEA-compliant safe has various security features that give access to only authorized personnel. Their doors are metallic, making it hard for someone to break them. Additionally, the doors are password-protected, thus allowing those with the correct password access to the safe. The doors are also self-closing, preventing other people from accessing the safe, especially if the door is left open. These features provide controlled access to the safe, thus enhancing its security.

My Garage Sale Safe

I have always been a big fan of garage sales. There is just something about the ability to stop and pick up hidden treasures for an incredibly low price that always gets my blood flowing. So when I spotted a top of the line safe at a local sale for an amazingly low price, I simply could not help myself. After years of sitting in my garage unused, I decided to finally move my safe into the house. The problem was, I had forgotten the combination. Thankfully, a local locksmith was able to help me gain access to the safe. While watching the locksmith work, I was fascinated by the way he bypassed the safe's lock. Suddenly I found myself wanting to learn this skill. Throughout the course of research, I learned a lot about the profession of locksmiths. Today, I would like to share that knowledge with you.
